Did you know that Wisconsin is the birthplace of snowmobiling? Wisconsin also continues to offer some of the best snowmobiling trails, especially in the northern part of Wisconsin.

WHY DO I NEED A WISCONSIN SNOWMOBILE SAFETY COURSE?

Safety is an important part of snowmobiling, more than 200,000 snowmobile enthusiasts hit Wisconsin’s 25,000 miles of trails each winter.

Between January and March of 2020, snowmobiling in Wisconsin got off to a really bad start. There were 19 Wisconsin snowmobile fatalities and three of those fatalities involved someone under the age of 18 years old.

DO I NEED A WISCONSIN SNOWMOBILE SAFETY COURSE?

WISCONSIN SNOWMOBILE YOUTH LAW AGE REQUIREMENT

If you were born on or after January 1, 1985 and who are 12 years of age or older, the Wisconsin snowmobile education safety course is required. Your must complete and receive a snowmobile safety certificate to operate a snowmobile in Wisconsin. Operators must be sure to carry the certificate with them while riding and display it to a law enforcement officer upon request.

THE FIRST STEPS TO COMPLETE THE WISCONSIN SNOWMOBILE SAFETY GUIDE COURSE
The class seeks to ensure that you are safe while having fun out on the snowmobile trails.

The safety course costs $10 and includes six hours of classroom instruction with two optional hours of hands-on instruction or a simulated ride. If you are 16 or older, the wisconsin snowmobile safety course may be completed online.
